New Hampshire’s Closet Design Specialists Present:

“ClosetPlace and the Impossible Old House,” or
“A Story of Transformation by Organization”

It’s a true story, and here’s how it goes:

I was closing up the office for the day when her call came in. The distressed edge in her voice got to me as I listened to her story. It had already been a long day, but heck, fighting chaos is my job.

She beckoned me through the front door with a brisk swish of blond hair, and I raced to keep up as she charged through the old Colonial.

I found her in the bedroom, looking like some schoolyard bully had just stolen her birthday, while she glared into a small reach-in closet. It was one of those odd-shaped jobs you find in older homes: low and deep.

Yikes! The floor was a knee-deep tangle of what looked like one of them Chia plants gone berserk. The single shelf groaned under the weight of boxes and clothing stuffed to the plaster ceiling.

“I need a place for coats,” she told me, “and some extra blankets for guests...”

Okay. Piece of cake. What’s the panic?

“…then there’s my sewing machine, and my fabric and yarn… the vacuum, space for at least a case of wine, oh yeah, and my massage table.”

Massage table!

What do people expect…magic?

 

And magic is what she got. After her personal closet consultation, she sailed through our closet design process, and within two weeks, this is what she said:

“I love my new closet. I used to dread going in it … now sometimes I open it when I’m walking by just to admire it. Thank you so much!! You guys are fabulous and so fast!”
